The Chrysalis Group was founded in 1994 by Nancy Millner to provide the Richmond, Virginia community with opportunities for personal and spiritual growth through classes, Ember Days and Labyrinth walks. Her vision was "to provide hospitable time and space for seekers on diverse paths who wish to explore ways in which we can live connected to our true selves, to each other, to creation, and to The Spirit."
From those early beginnings, Chrysalis brought nationally known spiritual leaders such as Parker Palmer, Marcus Borg, James Hollis, Margaret Wheatley, Peter Russell and Tara Brach to Richmond to share their knowledge and expertise. A permanent labyrinth on Richmond's Northside now allows open access for all who wish to experience the power of this ancient ritual.
Chrysalis now has over 250 supporting members, and thousands of people have attended our lectures, workshops and practices. Each year, Chrysalis has offered unique and innovative programs for our membership, as well as for the broader Richmond community.
