MPj03139160000[1].jpgDo you believe that you are not creative? Do you believe you have no artistic talent?

Come join us to find out just how wrong you are!!!

According to Aviva Gold, author of Painting From the Source, our "culture and educational system brainwashes us into believing that painting is open to only a handful of uniquely talented individuals worthy of the title of 'artist' … [yet indigenous cultures all over the world have always known that humans are innately creative.] For example, in Bali the same word means 'human' and 'artist' and making art is as much part of everyday life as planting rice.”

Ask a room for four and five year olds if they can paint and they eagerly say yes! But, by the time they've grown up, most of those same children believe they are not creative or artistically talented.

Join Gloria Umbach and Priscilla Burbank in Gloria’s cozy attic studio to use paint, form and color to “rediscover” your inner creativity! It’s there ... just waiting to be expressed!

We will help guide you through the process of creativity by learning to “trust” your own intuitions and impulses and to ignore the voice of that inner critic that tells you that you can’t paint, can’t draw, can’t create.

Soup & Soul?

Soup & Soul evenings are gatherings hosted in the homes of Chrysalis members featuring some aspect of creativity and offering up soup, bread and drink to nourish both body and soul. A vegetarian option is provided.

This event is limited to 16 participants, so register today!

Facilitators

Gloria Umbach, MSW, is an experienced counselor, body worker, nurse and educator. She has been painting “intuitively” since 2005 and uses her skills to encourage self-expression in a safe, non-judgmental way.

Former Chrysalis President Priscilla Burbank is a UVA law school graduate and recently earned a Master’s Degree in Conscious Evolution from the Graduate Institute. Her master’s thesis focused on creative expression as a transformative experience. Priscilla discovered “intuitive” painting in her master’s program and has been continuing that creative practice under Gloria’s tutelage for the past few years.
